the best monday

i certainly have to argue that the best mondays happen when you're on holidays. don't you think? haha. seriously. here i am at the picnic table, with coffee and bailey's in hand (well no. carolans.... but it tastes the same), and i'm just sitting here in the sun, while the hubby stokes the fire and the kiddo is about to cuddle up to the fire with a game.

yeahhh... it's a good kind of monday indeed... and to tell you the truth, i could get used to this kind of lifestyle... maybe we should just do this full-time. hahha. well maybe this is how i'll retire :) except we'll have a sailboat, and have wine and freshly caught salmon on a cedar plank at sunset... bliss!

as for working on the knitting front - i've been making some progress! great progress in fact, especially considering i had to rip a project completely back to the beginning, i'm now farther than i was before i ripped it out! yessss... and yes, it was the shawl surgery i mentioned at the beginning of the weekend. picking up garter stitches just proved to be too tedious, and with the colour changes in yarn, i just couldn't get it to look the way i wanted it to. blame it on my dutch roots, but i had to just redo the thing. i'm much happier with it now :) i've also finished two of the four cowls i've set out to do. so yes, working from the campsite seems to be effective for me :)

ps: don't forget that tomorrow is the deadline to enter the giveaway

we are still trying to decide what we want to do now for this week. go on to another campsite? stay here? how was your weekend? i'd love to know what you got up to... come chat. i've got campfire coffee here... and you know it's good because it was made with my bodum :) xo

  1. As horrible as it seems, sometimes ripping back or starting all over again is the only way to go if there's something that bothers you...even if it is just a little hole. Sometimes I wonder about my sanity when I do things like that and then have to remind myself that if I left it as is, I would ALWAYS see that mistake and it will ALWAYS bug me. So I think the ripping is necessary in order to save my sanity!!

But you're such a speedy knitter, I knew it wouldn't take you long to catch up! :) I'm jealous that you're still camping, but glad to know you're still loving it!! ♥

  3. Fire side knitting sounds so delightful! Yesterday I finished my shalom and nearly finished a puerperium. Car knitting is working for me!

I had a fun (but very short) couple days in Vancouver and now we're back on your Island for the week! Heading to Victoria on Tuesday or Wednesday - I've got dates with Knotty by Nature, Silk Road, and Noodle Box!

    Enjoy your vacation!
