cooling down with a little yellow....

i can't believe how stubborn i am. i should expect it from myself by now, but i still surprise myself. ha. remember my georgia cardigan? ok well. i have to admit i was stubbornly doing anything i could just to be able to knit with my knit picks. truth is i really need to find a smaller needle. so i've frogged it ah-gain. sigh.

i really want to knit this cardi. i've had it in my queue for ever and i've been looking forward to knitting it since i got the yarn months ago! so i've decided what i need is a big breath, a cup of coffee, and a cool-down.

and that's what these socks are doing for me :) i cast on for them last night. as you recall, i'm not a huge sock knitter. in fact i've only ever knit one pair on actual sock yarn and small needles. but i have to say. i'm totally enjoying this pattern.

i was introduced to this pattern by one of my besties, jane. after our trip to fibers west, jane suddenly dove into more sock knitting. and she's used this pattern every time! i totally trust jane's judgement when it comes to patterns. (of course). so i thought i'd give it a go!
i'm using 2.5mm dpns, and knit picks stroll in dandelion. 

totally not a disappointing knit at all! even though i've only just begun the socks i'm enjoying it very much.
the last time i knit toe up socks, it was the skew pattern...check out my thoughts and pics here.. though that is a neat pattern, this is much more straight-forward and stress-free.

so now that i'm calming down... let's go find that smaller needle, shall we? georgia will be flying on the needles before i know it. (finally).
