Several years ago I knit owen the fisherman's pullover. it's a fabulous veera pattern. (love her patterns!) And it fit him so well! he looked downright adorable I think.... see?
Anyways, sadly I hated the yarn I had used for this one. It pilled horribly. .. and he didn't get nearly as much use out of this sweater as I would have loved... so I think it's time for a re-make. He's picked the yarn... and I happen to have enough in my stash! (it's cascade eco + in a heathered purple) That in itself calls for a happy dance.
So somehow in the next few weeks, I'll pull off an amazing feat and knit him a sweater for school.... while still keeping on top of my other knitterly obligations. I can do it, right?
... besides, distractions are good... and my little man deserves this <3 daddy has to go to sea next week, and will be gone until the end of October... told you.. lots of big changes here...
How are you doing with the end of summer? Are you feeling nostalgic already for the campfires, swimming, stargazing, and late nights? I am. But I'm also really looking forward to fall. it is after all, my favourite time of the year! Even with the big changes this year ;) xo
Well I don't have any headed into kindergarten this year. But the following 2 years I will be sending off 2 kiddos for kindergarten.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of knitting a sweater for school. It is too late for me this year but maybe next year I'll plan ahead enough to have 4 sweaters for my school bound kiddos :)
I used to knit owen a sweater every year... but I've missed the last two years! so hopefully I can start the new tradition of knitting one for school... we'll see. haha. at least it gives us something to knit in the summer, and takes the stress off of big knits for winter and Christmas gift giving, right? xo
DeleteAs your little man heads off to kindergarten, my little-to-big man is heading off to college on Sunday. It's all quite emotional but amazing all at once. I wish I could knit a sweater as a "going off to college" present but maybe I'll knit one for when he returns for Thanksgiving! Hugs.
ReplyDeleteoh I don't even want to think about college! i'll be a mess about kindergarten. hahah though of course when owen goes off to college or uni, i'll be wishing it were kindergarten again... (or will I?) I think a thanksgiving surprise is awesome! and in perfect time for the cooler weather!! xoxo also clearly more realistic with the college sized sweaters anyways. ;) xo
DeleteMy youngest started college yesterday. I begged him to let me take him to kindergarten instead but he refused. It was traumatic (for me, he is quite pleased with himself). :-)
