holy cow guys! i'm excited! we are going on holidays next week! i've known about it for a while, but you know.. life happens, and keeps you crazy busy and then before you know it... hubby's going to his last day of work before holidays, and we'll be hopping in a car in just a couple of days!
weeee!!
we are headed to seattle, and then on the following day we are flying out of seattle to washington dc!! so excited. we've never been before.. and are so happy and excited to finally see my side of the fam again. it's been 2.5 years. too long.
my sis and her hubby and their kids live there, and then my fam from ontario will drive down to meet us. yay for reunions!!
you can bet there will be lots of pictures taken! oh to have those adorable cousins together again! and of course, the sights, and the yarn... :) my baby sister is now a knitter, and i'm excited to check out a yarn shop or two with her, and just to sit and knit together! one yarn shop on my list is fibre space. have any of you been before?
of course all of this travel time means knitting time! here's hoping for some serious dent work in the sskal! honestly, my needles have been clicking away, but not on the sweaters.... so i'm hoping for a change there.
also.. i'm kind of itching to knit another shawl... and socks! hahah oh dear. honestly, i do kind of wish i were an octopus. just think of all of the knitting i could get done! ;) xo
so i will be a bit quiet in this space for the next bit. (but you understand, right?) and i promise you that i'll have stuff to show you when i'm back. including knitting!!! wahoo!
one thing i do know is that i think this trip will be epic. and i'm so looking forward to it! i hope to actually meet up with the amazing sandra of duck duck wool! um guys. i do know that i'll be coming home with more yarn than i go with. :)
squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!
how about you? how is your summer going? are you speeding along on the sskal? tell me what you're working on!! i will be popping in whenever i can. promises there will be updates on the facebook page. so please check in! xo
Have a great trip! I just got back from mine.... surprisingly didn't get as much crocheting in as I wanted! Hopefully you do better then I did :) ~Stephanie

DeleteOh that octopus picture is just perfect! Totally how I imagine you :) Knitting, knitting, knitting!
ReplyDeletehahaah yes, so true.. but just think.. if i DID have 8 arms, how productive i could be! xo
DeleteHave a great trip!
ReplyDeleteFunny you mention the octopus because I just read this interview (http://www.spudandchloe.com/blog/2013/07/interview-with-knitche/) this morning and she mentions the same idea toward the end LOL
haha! awesome! xo
DeleteI have all sorts of body parts crossed that we will get to meet!!! If you do head to Fibre Space, let me know and I'll pop over. Also, Looped Yarn in Dupont Circle in DC (we can check out where DDW will soon be launching!). Safe travels--hope (so very much!) to see you soon! xoxo
ReplyDeleteFibre Space is an amazing yarn shop! The employees are super nice. You'll love it there. Can't wait to see your purchases!
ReplyDeleteI just visited Fibre Space for the first time this past Saturday. Lots of gorgeous hand-dyed yarns from all over the world. Plus I had my first chance to touch some Brooklyn Tweed Shelter and Loft! The staff was super-friendly and there is a great space for sitting & knitting. Old Town Alexandria where the shop is located also has a lot of wonderful restaurants, bakeries & ice cream shops. Have a fun trip!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Thanks everyone!!
