today is cast on day for the tops, tanks, and tee's kal!
i was so ready. i have the yarn... and the pattern decided... wait, no. i'm second guessing the pattern!! what? on the day of?? seriously, i thought i was prepared. hahaha.
i have five skeins of knitpicks cotlin ... that would be about 615 yds. my original plan was to knit up date night. but now i'm thinking that i want something that doesn't fit as close to the body... i've come up with 3 more options... yikes.
and just like that, i'm not really prepared..
my other three options are:
- bamboo agave tank by andrea rangel ... i am loving the layered look, and i think this would be a gorgeous layering piece.
- nachtfalter by stephanie pollmeier .... i love how different this top looks... though my concern is that i only have the cotlin. i'm worried it will grow too much for the ribbing section....
- work + shelter lace striped sweater by allyson dykhuizen ... actually i don't have enough yardage for this one it seems. lol. but i like it, and it's silly that i'm actually putting this up for the running.. haha but it's so cute! i do have some of the cotlin in tan that could possibly account for the remaining yardage, but where on earth would i put that colour change?
gack. so there you have it. i'm stuck. and i want to cast on!!! haah of course that would happen to me. thankfully while i'm thinking of what to decide on, i've got a sample knit that's just about finished here... but yeah, it's really almost done. and i'm wanting to cast on!!
do you have any advice? what's your vote on the three? (or the four, if date night is still something i should consider)... i'd love your feedback!! are you in the knit along? what have you cast on today? xo
Oh Rebecca, I still haven't chosen a pattern and now you just reminded me of the Work + Shelter pattern...sigh.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what you choose. I think you should knit Date Night.
i just don't know! right now i think my fave is the work + shelter pattern, but i have to see if i can incorporate the tan into it... :) xo
DeleteSame here .... too many wonderful options to choose from and I'm just in a very indecisive mood these days. How will you (and I) ever decide??? ; )
ReplyDeletehaha i'm so very happy to know that i'm not the only one!! gack! xo
DeleteSince you don't want anything too close fitting, I would think the tank would be out, too? And since you don't have the yardage for the work+shelter, I wouldn't go with nacho falter! (I should have been a detective!)
ReplyDeletehaahha well i'm not sure now. i just might have enough yardage!! xo also the tank is a looser tank that i would layer... hrmmm ;)
DeleteOh man, you do have a tough decision. I want to do the last two on your list, too! I have a hard time deciding between Lady Bat and Nactfalter, then my daughter requested a Lady Bat so she kind of decided it for me.
ReplyDelete:) i think i'm finally getting close to a decision! xo i think you could knit up both, no? xo
DeleteOhhh tough choices! I like the last one the best :) I do like the Date Night as well though! ~Stephanie
ReplyDeletei think i'm also favouring the last one! ;) what are you working on these days stephanie? xo
DeleteHmmm...tough one. I agree with the others about the Cotlin though. That would stretch horribly with the ribbing. Trust me. I did my top in cotlin and it stretches...a lot.
ReplyDeleteyeah, i'm really figuring that one.. so i think that top will be out for now... xoxo
Deleteyou are a few steps ahead of me then! I really want to join, but i don't have any $ for yarn and all I have enough of to use for a top would be acrylic.. just don't know if it's worth it to knit a top in acrylic that i won't love. I may just do it anyway and who knows, i could be surprised and like it.
ReplyDeleteIf i do, I am thinking about the lattice top from purlbee or else work&shelter.
well you know my take on both of those! haha :) love them! have you looked at knitpicks? their yarn is really uber affordable!! xoxo
Deleteack I can totally see you in work + shelter!! Can you find another skein on rav in the same dyelot??
ReplyDeletei think i just might have enough yardage!! eeks! someone has done the same pattern. 36" bust in full sweater form (long sleeves) using only 630yds. that's only 15yds more than what i have! i want to try it! xo
DeleteI love the bamboo Agave tank, but like someone already said - I totally see you wearing Work + Shelter! Have you made a decision yet?!
ReplyDeletei think i'll be swatching before the weekend, and i'll have a decision then. i sort of see the bamboo tank in a bit of a different colour for me... ;) xo
