crushing on quince & co..

it seems i'm in a bit of a conundrum... haha after yesterday's post of dreaming of upcoming knits... i really really want to order some yarn. goodness knows i don't really need more yarn. but i certainly would love some.... quince and co specifically. ;)

one of my alltime fave sweaters is in desperate need of replacement... it's the oatmeal pullover, by jane richmond. i love that sweater... so much so that i sleep in it now... and it came with me camping last year... anyhoo, it needs to be re-knit. and i've got my heart set on the quince and co puffin.
the only quince and co i've knit with is what's currently on my needles..... the linen... i love it! linen is such a different fiber though, and i feel like i can't say i really know quince and co until i've knit with their other yarns...

soo the hard part is deciding the colour, but i'm seriously digging the honey. it's totally my style.

i figure i should also try the lark. i just recently wound a sweater's worth for a friend of mine and i would honestly love to work with it too! hang on. i think it was finch. oops. but still..... ;) and i've already got a pattern in mind for it!!
you've seen the new hat by shannon cook, right??

it's so pretty!! amazing texture. i kind of want it.  and let's not forget my recent obsession over their linen tops!  sooo. maybe i should place an order?

haha my crushes on pattern and yarn grow steadily... what are you crushing on!? have you knit with quince and co lots? what's your fave? xo

  1. Oohhh...I have yet to knit with linen! I also want to try knitting with hemp and am waiting to get my hands on some Hemp for Knitting (cause they're from my hometown!). I have a sweater's worth of Lark from Quince that I'm just DYING to knit up, but sadly will have to wait until much later...when I can get at least 2-3 sweaters off the needles first! :p That Honey colour is definitely you!

  2. Time to order! I love their lark - just finished a sweater for the little miss with it. I'm curious how you find the puffin (therefore I expect you to buy it...) - I still have that sweater's worth I'm afraid of. :/

  3. Oh, I have some IndyHayden worsted from spiderwomanknits on Ravelry that I'm using to cast on for Dreiecke tomorrow when I'm done with the sweater I've been working on. Really looking forward to knitting up some texture after much stockinette.

  4. Hello! Yes, I crush so easily on yarns and knitting patterns too! It's fun and so much easier on the emotions than crushing on your classmate when you were a teenager, right?

I've used quite a bit of Quince & Co over the past year and I've just used Lark for a couple of patterns. I like how easy it is to purchase their yarn; there's never any problem with stock levels and you can even pay with Paypal! Yay. Plus their skeins are so short that winding one is a matter of minutes. I DO enjoy knitting with Quince yarn but it's not my favourite. I find it shows tiny flaws in your work quite easily, for instance. I will, however, continue to use them and yes, I love that new hat pattern too.

Have you tried Rooster yarns yet? Heavenly to knit with.
