cable love

hip hip hurrah it's the weekend! again! haha these weeks are seriously flying by! thank you so much for all of your lovely comments on my twiggy yesterday! i am so very happy with this cardi! and i could barely take it off. hahah. that usually happens with something new. but i do actually have another cardi to show you... and of course, i didn't take very many pics...
this pattern had been in my queue for ages... but i never tackled it because it seemed like it would be more concentration, lots of seaming, and just more difficult than i thought it would be... i was surprised by how quickly i picked up the repeats in this pattern, and i'm more than thrilled with how it turned out!!

do you recognize it? this is from a kal i was doing back in october no wait... september!! haha i totally didn't get it finished in time, but i'm so happy it was finished! just in time for christmas. and i love it.
it's the aidez cardigan by cirila rose. i used cascade eco plus and 2 skeins was plenty. 6.5mm needles helped this cardi along nicely too... i love the cable work on it! too bad i don't have a pic of the back to show you ... yet.

it's hard taking pictures of myself.. just sayin'. i love the detail in this cardi though, for sure!! and this yarn is very soft, and very warm. the cascade eco really lets those cables pop!

it was the perfect cardi to snuggle up in on christmas morning. i am really happy with how it turned out... even it required more seaming than i generally like to do ;) i promise to show you more pics of the back when some are actually taken..

it's a good thing i have a few warm cardi's now.. because we're actually packing up our bags and are headed out to visit family tonight! we'll be back in the middle of next week... i'm hoping to peruse a new yarn shop and take some lovely pics... so i will most likely be away from this space for the beginning of the week, however i'll still try to stay connected with you. who knows, there might be a surprise post in there... ?

so how about you? have you branched out and knitted something a little out of your comfort zone? have you finally tackled a pattern that's been in your queue for far too long? come chat! i for one detest packing, and any chance i get to procrastinate i will! so i'll be online.. haha  xo . happy weekend dear friends! i hope you find lots of time to knit, and enjoy being with those you love. see you next week! xo

  1. Lovely! I was wondering recently of you'd finished it. Hope you're bringing it to Calgary!
I've been eyeing the Chocolate Stout sweater. It is way out of my comfort zone with those cables but so pretty...

  4. ahh, how great! i started an aidez in the fall.... i'm partway up the back but just can't get the pattern in my head so it's been slow going! i only work on it when I have time to concentrate, and gee, when's that anymore? :)
