wanna win something?

today is a big day for a lot of families :) lots of firsts... for mamas and for kindergarteners... and well just first day of school for everyone in this area of canada. i still have one more year with my man before going through all of those crazy emotions of first day of school... but i do remember liking it... (more as i got older). i love the fall... love is an understatement too. i really really love the fall. the air is crisp and fresh. and even though january is the beginning of the year september seems more of a beginning for me. and i know i'm not the only one who feels  this way.
being a knitter kind of makes fall even more special. and you know i've been thinking of warmer knits! :)

before you know it.. you'll be starting your lists of christmas knits! (i'm not kidding!) well to celebrate this favourite season of mine... i thought a giveaway was in order... no?

wahoo! told ya i had a surprise for you!!!

quite some time ago, i did a test knit for jill zielinski the mastermind behind knitterella. you know who i'm talking about.. i know you do :) not only does she design knitting patterns, but is a graphic designer, does lots of plucky labels (*swoon*) and her gift tags are the cutest and awesomemest (it's a word) addition to any handknit.

you can check out more of knitterella's  knitting designs here.

anyhoo the test knit i did was for the eli slouch hat. a fun, easy knit for kollage yarns.

eli slouch hat by jill zielinski (photo by jill)

and i thought what a fun idea to offer the pattern and two skeins of yarn as a giveaway! now you can get a head start on christmas knitting, or selfish knitting..... :) what do you think... good idea? yes i thought so :)

so let's get down to business... ha.

the prize:
the lucky winner will get a printed copy of the eli slouch hat pattern, and two skeins of kollage glisten in red. this yarn is 70% alpaca, 25% silk 5% esteline. 50g skein 91 yds. (pictured above)

entering:
easy peasy here.. just leave a comment on this post telling me what cozy knits you're itching to start knitting.
bonus entry #1, "like" nook on facebook and leave another comment saying you do.
bonus entry #2, become a follower on this blog and leave another comment saying you do.

the rules:
you must leave your contact info in your comment or you will be disqualified. this can be your ravelry id or an email .. just some way i can contact you if you win!
this giveaway is open to everyone! anywhere! (i'll be the one mailing out your winnings)
this is open until  september 18th. the winner will be chosen by random number generator, and i'll announce the winner on the 19th.

to find out more about knitterella check out her:

to check out more of kollage yarns :

so there you go. a great start to the knitting season, no? something you should know though.. the little fam is going on holidays next week until the 24th of september. as i already have the yarn and pattern here at home, i'll be the one mailing it all out to the winner... (and i hope it's you!) lol. so i won't be able to pop it in the mail until after we're back. i'm not planning on taking any holiday from this space though :) we're totally going glamping. which means, i'll have internet. so i'll stay connected. but don't worry. we don't leave until next week ;)

are you getting excited about the knitting season? have you been standing by your warmest yarns at the ready? what are you hoping to get a head start on? any christmas knitting happening already? good luck with the giveaway, and can't wait to see who wins! who doesn't want to win yarn? xo

I can't wait to dig into a project my mother in law started before she passed away last year. It's a queen size blanket, and she made up the pattern herself. So I have to sort out her pattern and hopefully finish it over this winter. A nice heirloom for the grandkids. :-) babyzoe@hotmail.com
