grey skies.. green everywhere else...

well i didn't make it in yesterday. but we had a fabulous weekend!

albeit cold and wet. seriously. the sun only came out once. and it was when we decided to pack up, while the tent trailer was still dry. ha. since we store our tent trailer about half an hour away from us, we really didn't want to put it down wet. we ended up coming home a day early... which is ok. because it gives more time to do all of the laundry (yuck). ha. and of course, we are now sick again.

honestly. what is with that? it's not a horrible stomach flu or anything. just bad colds. that make you want to sleep all day.

that being said, the rain really does make you appreciate how green everything is! oh, and how awesome it is to be in a tent trailer when it's pouring, instead of a tent. ha.

soo with the weather acting like it's october, and our favourite outfits being jammies... we're calling it a fort day. we've got the tent set up. and toys out. yarn and needles at the ready, as well as a big pot of coffee.... and we'll only get dressed for swimming lessons later in the afternoon.

how about you? what is your day looking like? are you having cold and definitely un-july like weather as well? how are you keeping warm? xo

  1. A couple years ago the kids were constantly sick, one would get something and then they all had it. In sheer desperation to try something to help them I started giving them probiotics (acidophilus). It really changed things health wise and now they're sick maybe 4 times a year? It's definitely worth looking into.

  2. Totally agree with the probiotics! And right now we are investigating the benefits of ingesting baking soda - that's right yuk.

I love tent trailer camping! as a child every year we would take two weeks and go camping in the tent trailer. my dad was the best at all the boy scout stuff... we had a huge canvas like sturdy kitchen tent with at tarp that would reach across to the tent trailer (great for rainy days). my dad also built a kitchen cabinet on legs that would fold so it could be stored in the trailer - it had a small place for plates, cutlery and small dry goods, and place for the coleman stove.

i especially liked rainy days... it meant doing nothing but reading and being lazy :) and the sound of those rain drops on the tent canvas has got to be one of my very favorite sounds ever.

with my little ones i would love to camp but, the man i married is not the handiest guy around... so we cottage :) I've got to admit that i prefer to sleep in a proper bed...

    1. oh yes. the sound of rain on the canvas is awesome. we had such a wonderful time. and our tent trailer has a ton of room inside.. so there was lots of space to play :) love it. i'm sure we'll take the tent trailer out many times this year. as for ingesting baking soda! yikes! what are the benefits?

  6. I would trade you places in an instant! It's been in the upper 90s to 100s here and we can't go outside without the heat completely sucking the life out of us! Thank goodness for air conditioning or I'd have to give up knitting. :P I hope you all feel better soon!
