in action

today marks the beginning of another busy week for us! but it will be busy in a different way. my hubby has left for sea until friday, so there may be a bit of "adding lib" here. hah.

i'm so excited to have been wearing my pendulum heaps. it's fortunately been pretty windy here lately! so it's really quite perfect. and i love it like crazy. honestly, everyone should knit one. i'm pretty glad i decided not to try to make more stripes than the pattern called for. i think it's big enough as is, and i also would have run out of the darker yarn. so it all worked out!

here's a pic of it "in action"

i honestly love the drape. i did block it, and i'm loving that is still has that squishy garter love. total win! and i have to say, i think i'm pretty hooked on shawl knitting! my next shawl will be on the needles soon! (as soon as i figure out which one i'll be knitting next haha). my only big concern is how i'll store them all. i'm already running out of space (heaven forbid!) i'll have to remedy that. pronto.

as for the next one? hmmm i'm thinking something by either veera or martina. there are several shawls designed by both of them that are overpowering my queue and favourites :) i'm such a fan!

how about you? are you a shawl knitter? which patterns are your faves? how is your week looking like? i'd love to chat! xo

  1. So nice! I love it! :) I have the yarn for a shawl and I just have to decide on a pattern (or two, or three)!
Have you seen this pattern? I just found it today http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/ode-to-veera ... I think I might do it but without the 3rd color, maybe a row of eyelet instead?

  2. It looks great! Lucky that you can still rock them, it's been warm here for a while now. We'll have the occasional chilly morning, and those are when I'd probably get away with a squishy shawl. :) I made my grandma a crochet shawl a few months ago, and miniaturized it into a scarf for myself. I love all your projects. :)

    1. thanks! well you never know with cooler weather, and it's always good to be prepared... right? i say summer is the perfect time to stock up on the shawls because end of aug, beginning of september is a great time for the cooler weather, and summer storms. wrap me up in a shawl and i'm set! ;) xo

  3. I just started knitting shawls and love the Trainspotting for Stitchnerds series by Susan Ashford. So far I've completed the TGV and am currently working on the Shinkan-Zen.

  5. Like I said on instagram, I love it! I have decided to make it I'm just waiting for the yarn to get restocked on jimmybeanswool. I really love your color combination, and considered making mine in those colors, but then I remembered I am making the citron in a dark blue and the annis in a teal. My next shawl though is going to be different lines from Veera. I like quite a few of hers and Martina's designs they also are filling up my favorites.
