how was your weekend? was it a crafty one?
this past weekend was like christmas for me! yep. our knit night groups' big ol' yarn order came in! wahoo! here's my haul. i've never ordered yarn online before. i like to be able to feel the yarn before i buy it. but i have to say, i'm not disappointed at all! i immediately swatched and cast on for a project within the hour of receiving the wool. seriously, that excited!
i'm loving the swish dk. it's sooo soft!
i snagged a couple of skeins of the stroll tonal sock yarn too. aren't the colours just lovely?
and in other crafty news, i've been a productive little bee. the boys went on a movie date on sunday leaving mama at home to craft away, and i gotta tell ya, not a minute was wasted! here's a peek...
i even snuck in a couple of loaves of bread! oh yah, the house smelled lovely... even if covered in scraps of yarn when they came home. ha.
this is our last week with the hubs at sea, so here's hoping it goes by quickly, and is as productive as the weekend was! i'd better get this post up before the power is out all together! and then grab those candles.
what are you up to today? any big crafting plans? how are you feeling with the hr of less sleep? come chat! i missed you over the weekend. xo
I'm working on a sweater in Swish DK, too. Love it!
ReplyDeletei just can't get over how soft it is! also, the price is pretty fantastic too :) what sweater are you knitting up? xo
DeleteHope your power decides to stay around a while! Way to be productive!!
ReplyDeletethanks rosa! i'm betting the wind will let me keep the power on. at least long enough to bake my cookies ;) here's hoping for more productivity. :)
DeleteSo fun to see that you're working on some granny squares. What particular pattern are you using for them?
ReplyDeletehiya! i'm making this similar to the one i made way back in june! here's the link and all of the details... http://inanook.blogspot.com/2011/06/hooked.html

I love the swish DK, I used it to make my brother in law's Christmas hat.
ReplyDeleteI'm still working on my raglan pullover but I also washed and ironed a couple more yards of fabric to hopefully sew up into more skirts for the girls. I'm excited to be sewing again.
I love the colors you chose for the granny squares, is it for a baby afghan?
xo
i love that you're back into sewing too! i'm hoping to actually tackle a sewing project for myself this summer! eeks! i'm definitely a beginner sewer, so we'll see how i do :)
Deleteand yep the granny squares are for something little ;) xo
While I love trawling my LYS and feeling up all the yarn, I also get a real kick out of ordering yarn and then getting a nice package in the mail. Knitpicks has always been a great online source and I'm excited to try Swish. Your flowers are so bright and happy! I've had my "flowers in the snow" squares languishing for almost a year but you've re-inspired me to hook them all up into the afghan that they're meant to be.
ReplyDeleteyippeee! i'm so glad to hear that you are going to tackle your afghan. finish it up! we all want to see it!! and you know, i'm certain i'll be placing another knitpicks order sometime soon. getting that to come to my house would just make my week! :) xo
DeleteI love your yarn choices. The swish is awesome on a stick, and that purple and green are practically edible! I'm love those green and orange granny squares. I REALLY need to get you to teach me crochet sometime.
ReplyDeletedone and done. we should just sit down and crochet one knit night ;) xo
DeleteLook at you go! That Swish is lovely...What have you started???
ReplyDeletei have started a gramps cardigan. sooo cute! :) http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/gramps-cardigan

ReplyDeletei am absolutely loving knitting with the swish dk. have you ever knit with it before? soooo soft! xo
