happy new years everyone! i can't believe we are now into 2013 already! it's just incredible how fast last year just flew by. i have to say it was a fantastic year though. and i'm ready to get back on track after the holidays and find some sort of schedule, or routine.
did you have any big plans for new years? we did! we went to a navy ball! it was so fun!! the last time we went to this ball, i wasen't even pregnant with owen yet... so it was really high time. rarely do my hubby and i get a chance to get really dolled up, and i must say, we cleaned up nice!
of course the very next day, i came down with pink eye. hurrah. i'm being very aggressive with the drops though, and it should be fully cleared up by tomorrow. in the mean time, i've been really thinking of fresh starts. because that's what we all do this time of year. i've never been a huge "resolution" fan.. but i do like to make positive changes, and i'm usually more excited about it when everyone else is trying to do the same thing :) i am far more productive when there is order around me. and as you know, already the christmas decorations have been put away. that helps a lot.. now it's cleaning out the extra sugars in the kitchen and pantry from christmas celebrations. one thing i did while ordering goodies from amazon for christmas.. was to order the 30 day shred with jillian michaels.. and i hope to be starting that soon. i have to be honest with you though. she scares me ;)
i hope to get back into meal planning this week as well. we always eat better when some planning and thought have been put into it. it's not as easy being "off holidays" now because my hubby is still home on holidays... for a couple more weeks! but i'm determined...
though i didn't get yarn for christmas this year (gasp) i'll be organizing the office, and sorting out custom orders this week. it feels good to get back on the saddle. and dare i say it, i just might be donning those running shoes again! all in all i'd just like to say this year will be the year of doing. there are so many things on my "list" and i always have good intentions, as we all do... but this year, i plan to actually "do".. :)
i'd love to hear of your new years intentions... and how your holidays went! i've missed you all so much, and i'm looking forward to so much crafting, sharing, and growing with you this year! so come chat!! i've missed you! xoxoxo
Happy New Year! :) I plan to don the running shoes again soon, too...it's been far too long. For me it will also be a year of doing, but mostly a year of not doing everything! That's kind of my problem. It's going to be interesting. Here's to a wonderful year ahead! :) xo
ReplyDeleteit's always hard to say no :) so excited for this year though! xoxoxo
DeleteMy resolution (thought I agree I don't much like resolutions) is to start everything 15 minutes earlier.
ReplyDeleteGOOD resolution! xo :)
DeleteI donned my running shoes yesterday to kick off the new year and it was so peaceful on my run ... I loved it. Happy New Year and let's keep the motto of "doing" in action!
ReplyDeletegreat job! so proud of you! xo
DeleteI wish I was a runner, but sadly I'm not. My resolutions are to exercise more (which any is good), read every day with my kids and to finish my Larch cardigan before Feb 1st. Love your dress!! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeletethanks! i think any exercise is good though! that's why i'm a fan of doing the workout videos at home... :) xo
DeleteHey shmexy! I'm so glad you had a night off, and a glam one at that! We mommies need that sometimes!
ReplyDeleteGuess what I finally finished? I couldn't start the new year without finishing it...one knitting resolution down!
chat soon.
hurrah!! did you blog about it? i am gonna check anyways. and thaks for the love! it was nice to feel so pretty xoxoxo
DeleteHappy New Year! I had that shred video and gave it away :O lol I do the firm. You see results in 8 or 9 workouts and they're 20 mins long. I hope this year is a great one for you :)
ReplyDeleteeeks! i am excited for the work out... but scared. hahahaha thanks for the encouragement though!!! happy new year for you too! xo
DeleteHappy New Year! We took the 30 day shred out of the library last year and enjoyed it. Tough, but doable! I just saw it in a store the other day and have been thinking about going back and buying it.
ReplyDeleteNo yarn for me under the tree this year either, but I did get a magnetic row marker chart holder thingy (what is that called anyway?) and I'm using it as incentive to finally finish my Wisteria sweater. By the time it's done, i won't even care about wearing it anymore!!
This year, I also want to be more organized about posting my projects on Ravelry. I just counted my FOs for 2012, and there were 42 of them!! However, I might have actually gotten 3 or 4 on Ravelry. Gotta get on it! And I need to take photos of my FOs before I gift them!
hah you know i totally call it the same thing... magnetic row marker chart holder thingy. that's EXACTLY what it's called. ;) good for you for finishing your wisteria! can't wait to see it!!! and holy hannah did you ever get a lot of FO's done for 2012! get that camera out next time! xoxoxo
DeleteHappy New Year!! You guys look awesome! A ball would be so much fun. We had some company in town so a group of us went to Hecklers for the comedy show. It is fun!
ReplyDeleteOn another note - I have tried adding your blog to my bloglovin reader with no luck at all - and I have never had troubles before? Have you had anyone else mention this? ~Stephanie
aww shucks... i'm seriously blushing ;) i've not yet been to hecklers... i kind of want to go though!
Deleteyou know, i haven't had any other complaints about adding my blog to the reader? strange... i don't know if it's between blogger and bloglovin? dunno... maybe try again? we could email blogger and see?
so strange...
also you guys looked like you had a blast at new years! FUN! xo
Happy New Year! You two look fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI've never been a fan of resolutions either but this year will be different ;) Our family has a record number of milestone celebrations this year (including my 40th Birthday... woot? *groan*) So I plan of keeping my resolutions simple... and here they are so far:
1. TRYING to relax more and go easy on myself in terms of what I expect of myself. <-- (THIS ONE I really do hope I keep!)
2. Making use of the three xbox kinect games we got for Christmas (my favourite being Dance Central! It makes for a really fun work out.)
3. NOT purchasing craft/knitting patterns late at night which I get overly excited about and absolutely HAVE to start that minute therefore destroying any hope of getting to sleep at a decent hour :D
That last one is of course SO absurd but I have been kinda bad for that since September. I'll give it a try... and... we'll see what happens ;)
those are all great resolutions! haha late night purchases are always hilarious! hahah that last one is awesome :) happy new year to you! xoxox
DeleteHappy New Year! You guys look fabulous! A year f doing... that sounds good. I'm planning on running longer distances this time around- we'll see.
ReplyDeletethank you! oh i hope i can get back into my running shoes without being too disappointed. haha. i'm sure you'll do fantastic! xo
DeleteRebecca! you look SO wonderful! This year I have resolved to live by my word for the year which is SIMPLE and to read every day.
