this particular sweater was knit with indiecita alpaca 4-ply worsted. in a rust red-orange. (i can't remember the exact name) and with a 3.75mm needle.
love it!
i've always gotten compliments on this sweater, and only now it has occurred to me that maybe i should knit another one! ha.
first of all, don't worry. i haven't cast on for it... yet. i'll get a few things crossed off my list first :) but this is a contender for another project soon!!
you can find my rav. details here
now just to find the perfect yarn.
do you have a fave from the archives that now you might want to make another of? if you were to knit this sweater again... what would be your yarn of choice? xo
Hmmm....I think you need some Quince and Co for the next one! It's looks so great on you - no wonder you get compliments. I love the fit!
ReplyDeleteeeekkk! omygoodness... quince & co!! what a fantastic idea! xo
DeleteI definitely will be knitting the Classic Raglan again, sooner than later.
ReplyDeleteThe hourglass is such a great pattern and looks awesome on you. Those Purl ladies sure know what they're doing.
I don't know if you've been following their blog, but Purl Soho is hiring! Can you imagine, such a once in a lifetime opportunity and I just moved to CA! blargh. I'm sure that they will be flooded with applicants, but it's a nice dream to harbor anyway.
Speaking of jobs, I just got an teacher's aide position at Noelle's school! It's only for two hours a day but as a result Ellie gets free daycare for the hours I'm working and Noelle's tuition will be cut by 80%. Money wise it's not the greatest, but family-wise I can't think of a better situation!
Happy weekend to you m'dear.
ohmy!! that's fantastic news! and with all of the money you're saving, that's great!!!! also, geez i would LOVE to work at purl soho. as would everyone else. ha. goodness you've got me dreaming ;) xoxoxo have a beautiful weekend! xo

DeleteSo pretty! It's always awesome to have a sweater that you love wearing so much.
ReplyDeletethank you! i absolutely agree! having a hand kint that you always grab to wear is the best. :) xo
DeleteIt's a fabulous sweater! I adore my Breezy Cardigan and have found myself queuing sweaters that look just like it fairly often. :) In fact, I plan on making the worsted version (Effortless Cardi) in Madeline Tosh DK or DK Twist. I also have to knit a few things first, though....
ReplyDeleteooooOOO that sounds lovely! i can't wait to see it when it's all done! in madelinetosh no less. swoon! xo
DeleteThat looks great on you Rebecca! The fit, the colour, everything! I still need to knit a Classic Raglan Pullover myself...I started one during a bout of starteritis and then forgot when I got distracted by something shiny. :/
ReplyDeletehaha melissa! you'll totally knit one though. and thanks! xo
DeleteI love knitted sweaters! Your sweater looks so gorgeous. Hand knitted sweaters are so cozy and there's nothing like knowing you made every stitch in the garment you are wearing. I've only knitted big scarves and I haven't attempted a sweater yet... maybe I should do that this winter next to some hot chocolate! <3
ReplyDeleteyou absolutely need to knit yourself a sweater!!! make it a promise to yourself!! all of us knitters will be right there with you! xo
DeleteYep, that's a great sweater. I have been craving knitting a plain raglan pullover for winter too. I was looking at Jane Richmond's.
ReplyDeleteoh, and the rust color with yellow pants is just too cute.
i could probably recommend many sweaters :) i've knit jane's classic raglan a couple of times now. and love it! they're all great! i'm loving that colour combo too. ha. now if it will just get cooler! what colour would you knit your raglan sweater in? xo
